Grosse Pointe is known for its massive homes and was known for being one

of the richest cites in the early 1900’s - Detroit too!

Grosse Pointe is surrounded by Chicago and Detroit, and is on Lake

St. Claire. Did you know that Grosse Pointe’s streets are named after

some of the first settlers from the 1600s like Moran, Cadieux and Campau.

Also, some of their relatives are still living here now!

called Ribbon dividing - they divided it so that each farmer got part of the

lake. They were skinny and very narrow. They were 600 feet wide and 3 to

4 miles running away from the river. Did you know that Lake St. Claire is

named after a Saint that was named Claire?
